A.K.A.
        Also Known As...

The Players

As a writer, one often finds that she must assume numerous different characters and views over time. Here you will find just a smattering of the personae that I have taken on of late.

Plain Ol' Molly Wendland

Most recently, I launched my own website and blog, A Mother's Balancing Act. It is here that you will become most acquainted with the "real Molly Wendland". On this site, you'll find musings about raising teenagers, juggling work and family, thoughts on marriage, book reviews, and some of my favorite recipes. (I'm a really good cook, unlike my dear friend and cooking challenged fellow White Trash Mom, Michelle Lamar!)

MollyMom

My newest endeavor, I am known as MollyMom on Mom2MomKC, a product of the Kansas City Star newspaper. On this site, I blog about whatever's on my mind, including current events, my kids' activities, parenting, (what's new?!), and the general goings on in our lives. Because this site also has more of a local focus, I tend to concentrate on local events, restaurants and happenings, as well.

Princess Peg

On Disney's Family.com I chose the name Princess Peg (in memory of my dear mother) as my name when they launched back in March of 2007. I write on the topics of marriage, parenting and juggling work and family. I have two blogs on that site. One is called Balancing Act, and the other Van Diaries. At one point, Chrysler actually gave me one of their new Town & Country minivans to tool around in, and I wrote some blog entries about my experiences while driving the van. Not a bad gig while on Chrysler's nickel!

Tacky Princess

One of my all-time favorites, Tacky Princess is my moniker at the White Trash Mom website, where I blog with the Queen of White Trash herself, Michelle Lamar. Michelle started the site back in the fall of 2005, and we haven't looked back since. Ever the rebel, Michelle set out to prove that "going commando" on occasion isn't so bad, and chicken nuggets for dinner every other night isn't the worst thing you can do to your children.

Embracing Michelle's idea of the non-perfect mother, I joined her fight to show the Muffies of the world that you don't have to be perfect to be a damn good mom. We're not about trailer parks and funnel cakes. We're about not being perfect and being OK with that. We're about having a messy house and being OK with that, too. We're about not having every single minute of our kids' lives scheduled out and being way more than OK with that. Visit us at the
White Trash Mom site to find out more about our movement.

Our blog has been so successful that we've managed to parlay it into a book,
"The White Trash Mom Handbook", which was released by St. Martin's Press in August of 2008. Early reviews are calling the book "The Girlfriend's Guide to Pregnancy" for the elementary school years. We couldn't ask for higher praise. Our tongues may have been firmly in our cheeks when writing this book, but you will see many people you know in the schoolyard scenarios presented. I can assure you that there's nothing elementary about elementary school.
